War, Just in Case
From the AP:
U.S. officials say they hold little hope Saddam Hussein will provide any useful information in Iraq's promised declaration regarding its weapons of mass destruction programs, but they will compare the report to U.S. intelligence's own findings just in case.Just in case, eh? That's a convenient little scenario for the Bush administration: if, gosh darn it, the UN inspectors don't find anything, just drape out some "US intelligence" to prove the need for an invasion...
It's becoming clear (err...if it already wasn't clear) that, in the words of Robert Fisk, "America plans to go to war whatever the UN inspectors find."
