Rational and Pragmatic. Uh-huh.

”Honestly, I am very happy that we have people in leadership roles who are willing to act as leaders,” said Wendy S. Kopp, President of the New York-based non-governmental organization Teach For America.

”Sometimes you have to lead and it's clear to me that they have a lot of rational people at the administration (of U.S. President George W. Bush) who are looking at the whole thing very pragmatically,” she said.
Maybe I'm being unfair by saying this, but if the President of Teach for America thinks the above, then maybe we shouldn't be surprised to have an educational system that is in tatters.

The quote's from this story, btw.
