Iran next

If you believe James Bamford in Rolling Stone, neocons will do practically anything to get their war on Iran.

Their next phase of activity is already well underway, and obvious: trying to exploit the Hezbollah/Lebanon issue to manufacture a pretext -- and public support -- for going to Tehran.

Witness the World War III/IV rhetoric. The fact that a wide variety of pundits on the right had the exact same response to the fighting in the Mid East was no accident. Meanwhile, the nuclear issue remains at a simmer, with plenty of opportunities to exploit that in coming weeks/months.

Hell, if I were a Ledeenite, I'd be thinking about striking while the iron is hot. This is too good of an opportunity to let pass.
