Shoddy journalism

As Paul Street points out, it's pretty pathetic that the US media has focused on Hugo Chavez's "devil" remark about Bush without any reference to the rather powerful themes he developed later in his speech at the UN last week.

Street also highlights the rather hilarious practice of "journalism" at the NY Times.

In a piece about the impact of Chavez's endorsement of Noam Chomsky's Hegemony or Survival, who did the Times' reporter turn to for extended commentary? None other than Alan Freakin' Dershowitz, probably the most viscerally anti-Chomsky figure alive today.

No bias on display there. Nope.
