Masking a new imperialism

This is a pretty good review from Le Monde diplomatique of some of the more significant recent books on the history of terrorism.

Let me say that I've read two of the books under consideration -- the ones by Carr and Wright. I'd recommend both, but Carr's book, which was published in the US under the title The Infernal Machine, has gotten surprisingly little thrift here. It deserves more attention.
