Robert Jensen argues persuasively that we should throw the fetish for journalistic "objectivity" out the window and instead focus on more worthy gauges of journalistic excellence -- like, say, accuracy or independence. As he points out, "objectivity" in practice usually turns out to be code for an acceptance of the status quo.
