Privatized occupation

According to the LA Times, we're at a point now where there are more "private contractors" helping the US garrison Iraq than US soldiers -- by a count of 180k to 160k. Moreover, the death toll amongst contractors has just passed the 1,000 mark, according to a separate Reuters tally.
