Beware the Holy War

Peter Bergen reviews Adam Curtis' famed BBC documentary, "The Power of Nightmares," in The Nation.

Despite some flaws, Bergen says it is "arguably the most important film about the 'war on terrorism' since the events of September 11. It is more intellectually engaging, more historically probing and more provocative than any of its rivals, including Fahrenheit 9/11."

The cynic could say it's hardly surprising, then, that nobody seems interested in distributing it here in the US. The media would only indict itself further by opening up the whole Pandora's Box of questions about Bush's contrived and fraudulent "war on terror" that Curtis' documentary raises.
