Propagandizing the home front

Here's an excerpt from Sheldon Rampton and John Stauber's new book on American propaganda efforts regarding Iraq. They argue that, in contrast to previous conflicts when propaganda was aimed primarily at the dreaded "enemy," much of the effort today is directed back at the US population, in order to ratchet up support for the war.

A good portion of the article deals with the beloved Lincoln Group (formerly Iraqex). In this month's Harper's, there's a piece detailing one intern's experience working for them. You can check that out here, along with a Democracy Now! interview with the intern, Willem Marx.
